In futures, where leverage inflates your volume, fees are a key driver of P&L. Understand the fee structure first, then calculate how much the referral payback returns each month.
Futures maker / taker fee structure
Binance futures fees depend on order type. A maker that adds liquidity is cheaper than a taker that fills immediately. For USDⓈ-M, the standard tier is roughly maker 0.02% / taker 0.05%, varying by tier and promotions.

USDⓈ-M vs COIN-M
USDⓈ-M settles in USDT/USDC, so most traders use it because P&L is intuitive in stablecoins. COIN-M settles in the coin itself and has a different rate schedule. Payback applies to both markets.
Funding fees are not a "fee"
The funding fee is paid between long and short position holders - it is not the trading fee the exchange takes. Payback applies to the trading fee, not the funding fee. The longer you hold a position, the more funding fees matter, so manage them separately.
How the 10% referral payback applies
When you sign up with a referral code, Binance charges the normal futures fee and then returns 10% of it as payback. It applies with no set time limit, and the more you trade, the larger the rebate. Spot is 20%.
BNB / VIP tiers and stacking
Paying fees with BNB discounts the trading fee itself, and the referral payback adds on top. As your volume grows and your VIP tier rises, the base rate falls further. All three (BNB discount, VIP tier, referral payback) work together.
